Botox in Seoul | Apgujeong EU:GENES Skin Clinic

Botox (botulinum toxin) relaxes the small muscles that fold the skin into lines, and can also slim a square jaw or soften a gummy smile. At Apgujeong EU:GENES Skin Clinic , Dr. Jung Yoo-jin plans every injection around how your own face moves, so you look rested, not frozen. Choose a treatment area below or book a free consultation.

01

What is Botox?

Botox is the common name for botulinum toxin type A , a purified protein that temporarily relaxes the muscle it is injected into. Lines such as frown lines, forehead lines and crow's feet form because the same muscles fold the skin thousands of times a day. When those muscles relax, the skin above them smooths out.

The same effect is used beyond wrinkles. A small, measured dose can slim an enlarged jaw muscle, lift the corners of the mouth, reduce a gummy smile or soften neck bands. Results are gradual and wear off over a few months, so the treatment is adjustable over time.

03

Who is it for?

Botox suits adults who want to soften expression lines, prevent lines that are starting to set in, or reshape areas such as the jaw without surgery. Many patients start in their late 20s or 30s as a preventive step; others combine it with lifting or skin-quality treatments later in life.

It may not be right for you if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a neuromuscular condition such as myasthenia gravis, have an infection at the injection site, or have a known allergy to botulinum toxin. Please tell the doctor about any medicines you take, including blood thinners, before treatment.

What changes

How Botox changes the skin

This simplified diagram shows the kind of change Botox aims for beneath the surface: a relaxed muscle and smoother skin above it. Results build differently for every patient, so your doctor will explain what is realistic for you during the consultation.

Your treatment at EU:GENES

Every visit begins with a 1:1 consultation with Dr. Jung, who has 11 years of clinical experience. She watches your face at rest and in motion — raising the brows, frowning, smiling and clenching — to see which muscles create the lines or shape you want to change.

Your injection map and dose are then designed for you. Dr. Jung personally performs the injections with a fine needle; most areas take 10 to 15 minutes, and numbing cream is available. We aim for a natural, rested look, and several areas can be treated in the same visit when it suits your goals.

05

Results & how long they last

Most patients notice softening in 3 to 5 days, with the full effect at around two weeks. For lines, results typically last three to four months. Jaw slimming (masseter) builds more gradually over four to six weeks and tends to last longer, often around six months.

With regular sessions, many patients find they need treatment less often. Deep, etched lines may not disappear with Botox alone; the doctor may suggest pairing it with fillers or a skin booster.

06

Downtime, aftercare & possible side effects

There is usually no real downtime, and you can return to work or sightseeing straight away. Small bumps at the injection points fade within 15 to 30 minutes, and a tiny bruise is occasionally possible.

For the rest of the day, avoid rubbing or massaging the area, lying flat for four hours, intense exercise, saunas and alcohol. Possible side effects include mild headache, temporary heaviness, slight asymmetry and, less commonly, brow or eyelid drooping or a change in smile. These effects are temporary and settle as the product wears off; a two-week review lets the doctor fine-tune if needed.

07

Botox vs Skin Botox vs fillers

  • Botox (this page): injected into a muscle to relax movement — for expression lines, jaw slimming, gummy smile and neck bands.
  • Skin Botox: very diluted toxin placed just under the skin to refine pores, reduce oil and smooth fine texture, without changing expressions.
  • Dermal fillers: add volume to fill lines or hollows that are present even when the face is still.

Many plans combine them. Your doctor will explain which one fits each concern during your consultation.

08

Common questions

Will I look frozen?

No. Dr. Jung doses each area to keep natural movement. If you prefer a softer or smoother finish, you can discuss it at your consultation.

Can I have Botox while visiting Seoul for a short trip?

Yes. Treatment is quick, and you can usually fly the next day. If you have left Seoul by your two-week review, you can send follow-up photos over WhatsApp.

Can I treat several areas in one visit?

Yes. Forehead, frown lines and crow's feet are often treated together, and jaw slimming can be added. The doctor will plan safe total doses for you.
