Forehead Botox in Seoul |
Apgujeong EU:GENES Skin Clinic
Horizontal forehead lines can make you look tired or worried even when you feel relaxed. At Apgujeong EU:GENES Skin Clinic, Dr. Jung Yoo-jin uses carefully dosed botulinum toxin to smooth these lines while keeping your expressions natural.
What is forehead Botox?
Forehead Botox is an injection of botulinum toxin into the frontalis, the broad muscle that lifts your eyebrows. Each time you raise your brows, this muscle folds the skin into horizontal lines. Over the years, those folds can stay visible even at rest.
By relaxing the frontalis in a measured way, the treatment softens both moving and resting lines. The forehead is a balancing act: this muscle is the only one that lifts the brows, so dosing and placement matter far more than the number of units.
Who is it for?
Good candidates are adults with dynamic forehead lines, or fine resting lines that are just starting to set in. Some choose it early as a preventive step.
Forehead Botox may not be right for you if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a neuromuscular condition such as myasthenia gravis, have an infection at the injection site, or have a known allergy to botulinum toxin. People with heavy, low-set brows or noticeable upper-eyelid hooding need special care, because relaxing the forehead too much can let the brows drop. In those cases, the doctor may suggest a lighter dose or a different approach.
Benefits
- Softens horizontal lines across the forehead
- Helps slow the deepening of lines that are starting to etch in
- Quick treatment with no incisions
- Can be combined with frown-line treatment for a smoother upper face
- Dosing can be adjusted to keep light, natural movement
Your treatment at EU:GENES
Every visit begins with a 1:1 consultation with Dr. Jung, who has 11 years of clinical experience. She watches your forehead as you raise your brows, frown and talk.
Your injection map is then designed around how your own muscle moves. Dr. Jung personally performs the injections with a fine needle, usually in a few minutes. We aim for a rested look, not a frozen one, and we often treat the frown muscles at the same time so the brows stay balanced.
Results & how long they last
Most patients start to notice softening in 3 to 5 days, with the full effect at around two weeks. Results typically last three to four months.
Deep, etched resting lines may not disappear fully with Botox alone. For those, the doctor may suggest pairing it with skin-quality treatments such as a skin booster.
Downtime, aftercare & possible side effects
There is usually no real downtime. You may see small bumps at the injection points for 15 to 30 minutes and, occasionally, a tiny bruise.
For the rest of the day, avoid rubbing the area, lying flat for four hours, intense exercise, saunas and alcohol. Possible side effects include mild headache, a feeling of heaviness in the forehead, uneven brows, and, less commonly, brow or eyelid drooping. These effects are temporary and usually settle as the product wears off.
FAQ
Will I still be able to move my eyebrows?
Yes, in most cases. Dr. Jung usually leaves some movement so your expressions stay natural. If you prefer a smoother or softer finish, you can discuss this at your consultation.
Why do my brows sometimes feel heavy after forehead Botox?
The frontalis is the muscle that lifts the brows, so relaxing it can create a sense of heaviness for a week or two. Careful dosing and treating the frown muscles at the same time help reduce this.
Can I have it while visiting Seoul for a short trip?
Yes. Treatment is quick, and you can usually fly the next day. If you have left Seoul, you can send follow-up photos over WhatsApp.
