Overview

What is Thermage FLX?

Thermage FLX® is a leading radiofrequency (RF) skin-tightening treatment designed to improve firmness, soften wrinkles and stimulate collagen production without surgery. Using monopolar RF technology, it delivers controlled heat deep into the skin while the surface is protected by cooling.

Commonly used to:

  • Tighten loose or sagging skin
  • Soften fine lines and wrinkles
  • Improve skin elasticity
  • Define the jawline and facial contour
  • Stimulate long-term collagen remodelling
Quick answer

Thermage FLX tightens skin by heating the dermis with radiofrequency energy. You may notice some firming right away, but the main result develops gradually over about 2–6 months as new collagen forms. Most patients return to normal activities the same day.

Mechanism

How Thermage FLX works

Unlike lasers that work on the surface, Thermage FLX sends radiofrequency energy into the deeper dermis. The heat acts on collagen in two ways — an immediate contraction and a longer remodelling response.

01

Deep, even heating

Monopolar RF warms the deeper layers of the skin while a cooling tip protects the surface.

02

Collagen contraction

Existing collagen fibres tighten in response to heat, which can give a subtle firming effect early on.

03

New collagen over months

The skin’s healing response builds new collagen, improving firmness and texture over the following months.

Expected results

What changes after Thermage FLX

Thermage FLX works on skin quality and firmness rather than adding volume. Patients typically describe skin that looks smoother and feels firmer, with a softer jawline and less crepiness around the eyes and neck.

Because results depend on new collagen, improvement continues for several months. Many patients choose to maintain results with a repeat session about once a year, depending on age and skin condition.

Thermage FLX vs Ultherapy

Thermage FLX uses radiofrequency to tighten and improve skin quality across the surface, while Ultherapy uses micro-focused ultrasound to reach deeper lifting layers. Many patients combine both. Read our full Ultherapy vs Thermage comparison or explore Ultherapy Prime in Seoul.

How long does Thermage FLX last?

Results develop over about 2–6 months as new collagen forms. Many patients maintain them with one session roughly every 12 months, depending on age and skin condition.

Does Thermage FLX hurt?

You will feel warm pulses. A topical numbing cream is applied beforehand and energy levels are adjusted for comfort throughout the treatment.

Is there downtime after Thermage FLX?

Little to none. Temporary redness or mild swelling may occur and usually settles within hours to a day, so most visitors to Seoul can continue sightseeing the same day.

How many shots of Thermage FLX do I need?

Most full-face plans use 600 or 900 shots, depending on face size and laxity. Your doctor recommends a count after assessment — see our Thermage FLX price guide.

Can I combine Thermage FLX with other treatments?

Yes. It is often combined with Ultherapy for deeper lifting or skin boosters such as Rejuran for skin quality. Your doctor will plan the order and timing.

Is Thermage FLX suitable for tourists?

Yes. It is a single-session treatment with minimal downtime, and our English-speaking team can arrange consultation and treatment during your stay.
