Chin Botox in Seoul |
Apgujeong EU:GENES Skin Clinic
A dimpled or puckered chin can make the lower face look tense, especially when you talk. At Apgujeong EU:GENES Skin Clinic, Dr. Jung uses gentle botulinum toxin injections to relax the chin muscle and restore a smoother contour.
What is chin Botox?
The mentalis is a small muscle at the center of the chin that pushes up the lower lip. In some people it is overactive, and it wrinkles the chin skin into an "orange peel" or pebbly texture. It can also create a crease under the lower lip or make the chin look short and tense.
Chin Botox relaxes the mentalis with a small dose of botulinum toxin. The chin skin can then lie smoothly, and the lower face often looks calmer and slightly longer.
Who is it for?
This treatment is for people with chin dimpling when they talk, purse their lips or rest, or who feel their chin strains to close the lips. It is also common after chin filler or in people with a smaller chin, where the muscle tends to work harder.
If your chin is short or set back, Botox alone will not add projection. Chin filler is usually the better tool, and the two are often combined. Chin Botox is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with neuromuscular disorders, with infection in the area, or with a botulinum toxin allergy. Some people with lip closure difficulty caused by bite problems may need a dental opinion first.

Your treatment at EU:GENES
In your 1:1 consultation, Dr. Jung Yoo-jin asks you to speak, purse your lips and relax, and she studies your chin from the front and side. She considers chin length, projection and how your lips close, as these decide whether Botox, filler or both will give the most natural result.
Dr. Jung usually places one or two small injections low and central in the chin. Keeping the injections away from the corners of the mouth is important, as nearby muscles control the lower lip. The treatment takes only a few minutes.
Results & how long they last
The chin usually looks smoother within a week, with the full effect at around two weeks. Results typically last three to four months. When combined with filler, the relaxed muscle may also help the filler look smoother.
Downtime, aftercare & possible side effects
Most people return to normal activities straight away. Stay upright for four hours, avoid touching the chin, and skip strenuous exercise, saunas and alcohol for the day.
Possible side effects include redness, small bruises and tenderness. If the product spreads toward the lower-lip muscles, you may notice a slightly uneven smile, a feeling of lip weakness, or mild difficulty with certain words or drinking. These effects are uncommon with precise placement and temporary.
FAQ
Should I get chin Botox or chin filler?
Botox smooths texture and relaxes tension, while filler adds shape and projection. Many people benefit from both, but the doctor will recommend what your chin actually needs.
Can it be done with masseter Botox?
Yes. Some patients combine chin Botox with masseter Botox for a softer, more balanced lower face.
Will it affect my speech?
For most patients, no. A small dose placed centrally rarely affects speech, and any change is temporary.
