Lower Face Botox in Seoul |  Apgujeong EU:GENES Skin Clinic

The lower face is where several small muscles work together to shape your jaw, chin and smile. At Apgujeong EU:GENES Skin Clinic, we treat it as one connected area, designing a personal botulinum toxin plan that brings balance and a softer, more lifted look.

What is Lower Face Botox?

Lower face Botox is not one injection point but a tailored plan. The lower third of the face is shaped by a group of muscles: the masseters at the jaw angle, the mentalis in the chin, the depressor anguli oris that pulls the mouth corners down, and the platysma bands that run from the jawline into the neck.

When some of these muscles are overactive, the face can look square, tense, tired or downturned. By relaxing the specific muscles responsible, botulinum toxin can reshape how the lower face looks without surgery.

Who Is It For?

Good candidates often notice one or more of the following:

  • A wide or bulky jaw from strong chewing muscles, or teeth clenching
  • A dimpled, "orange peel" chin when talking
  • Mouth corners that turn down, giving a sad or stern expression
  • Visible neck bands or a less defined jawline

It may not suit you if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a neuromuscular disorder, or if your main concern is sagging skin or volume loss. In those cases lifting or filler treatments are often more effective, and we will tell you honestly.

Benefits

  • A slimmer, more balanced facial outline
  • A smoother chin and relaxed mouth area
  • Softer, more approachable resting expression
  • Possible relief from jaw tension caused by clenching
  • One coordinated plan instead of treating areas in isolation

Your Treatment at EU:GENES

In your 1:1 consultation, Dr. Jung Yoo-jin examines your face from the front, side and below, at rest and while you smile, speak and clench. This matters because lower face muscles interact: relaxing one too much can make another work harder or affect your smile.

She then designs a plan that may combine masseter Botox, chin, mouth corner and neck points in the right proportions for you. Dr. Jung performs all injections personally. The session typically takes 10 to 20 minutes, and we schedule a review to fine-tune if needed.

Results & How Long They Last

Chin, mouth corner and neck effects typically appear within one to two weeks. Jaw slimming is gradual, since the masseter muscle slowly reduces in bulk over four to eight weeks. For most patients results last around 3 to 4 months in the smaller muscles and often longer for the jaw, especially with repeated sessions.

Downtime, Aftercare & Possible Side Effects

Most people return to normal activities immediately. Avoid massaging the treated areas, saunas and heavy workouts for the rest of the day.

Possible side effects include small bruises, tenderness and mild headache. Less commonly, patients notice temporary chewing fatigue with hard foods, a slightly uneven smile, or subtle weakness when drinking or speaking. These are dose-related and temporary, which is why a careful, experienced physician is essential in this area.

FAQ

Do I need to treat every area?

No. Many patients only need one or two areas. Dr. Jung will recommend only what your face actually needs.

Will my smile look stiff?

A well-balanced plan should leave your smile natural. We avoid overcorrection and prefer to add a little at follow-up rather than too much at once.

Can this replace a facelift?

No. Botox can improve contour and expression, but it cannot lift significantly loose skin. For that, energy-based lifting may be discussed.
