What is Under Eye Botox?
Under eye Botox uses very small, superficial doses of botulinum toxin in the lower part of the orbicularis oculi, the circular muscle around the eye. It targets two things: fine crinkly lines directly under the lower lashes and the "jelly roll", a small bulge of muscle that pops up under the eye when you smile.
It is a specialized, low-dose treatment. It is different from filler for dark hollows and cannot treat puffy fat bags or pigmentation.
Who Is It For?
You may be a good candidate if you have fine lines under the eyes that appear mostly when smiling, or a noticeable muscle roll that makes the eyes look smaller when you laugh.
Under eye Botox is not recommended if you have:
- Pronounced under-eye bags or fluid puffiness, which can look worse
- Loose lower eyelid skin or poor lid "snap-back"
- Previous lower eyelid surgery, unless assessed carefully
- Dry eye disease, pregnancy, breastfeeding or a neuromuscular disorder
Dr. Jung performs a simple lower lid tone test at consultation. If your lids are lax, she will advise against it.

Your Treatment at EU:GENES
During your 1:1 consultation, Dr. Jung Yoo-jin looks at your eyes at rest, while smiling and from the side, and checks lid tone and any bags. Many patients who ask about under eye Botox actually benefit more from skin quality treatments or under-eye filler, and she will explain which fits your anatomy.
If suitable, she places one or two tiny droplets just under the skin on each side, far enough from the lash line. It takes only minutes, and it is often done together with crow's feet Botox so the whole eye area moves in harmony.
Results & How Long They Last
Results typically appear within a week and peak at about two weeks. Because the dose is intentionally tiny, the effect usually lasts around 2 to 3 months for most patients.
Downtime, Aftercare & Possible Side Effects
Small bumps disappear within minutes to an hour. Avoid rubbing your eyes, lying face down or doing strenuous exercise for the rest of the day.
Possible side effects include pinpoint bruising and mild swelling. More importantly, in this area over-treatment or unsuitable anatomy can cause increased puffiness, a rounder or slightly drooping lower lid, dry eye, or a change in the smile. These effects are temporary but can last several weeks, which is why careful patient selection and an experienced physician matter more here than almost anywhere else on the face.

Will under eye Botox get rid of my dark circles?
No. Dark circles are usually caused by pigment, thin skin or hollowing. Toxin does not treat these; other treatments are better suited.
Why is the dose so small?
The lower lid muscle helps support the eyelid and pump fluid away. Relaxing it too much can cause puffiness, so we always stay conservative.
Can I combine it with crow's feet?
Yes, this is very common and often gives the most natural, balanced result around the eyes.
