What is Nasal Flare Botox?
Nostril flaring is controlled by a small muscle on each side of the nose called the dilator naris. In some people it is especially active, so the nostrils visibly widen during expressions or even at rest, which can make the nose look broader than it really is.
Nasal flare Botox relaxes this muscle with a tiny dose of botulinum toxin placed at the side of each nostril. It does not change the bone, cartilage or size of your nose. It only reduces the dynamic flaring you see when you move.
Who Is It For?
This treatment is best for people whose nose looks noticeably wider when smiling, speaking or photographed, or who flare their nostrils as a habit.
It is not the right option if:
- Your nostrils are wide at rest because of their structure rather than muscle movement
- You have nasal breathing problems or nasal valve collapse
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a neuromuscular disorder

Dr. Jung Yoo-jin begins with a 1:1 consultation and asks you to smile, talk and breathe deeply so she can see how much flaring is caused by the muscle. She also looks at the nose from the front and below, as well as the balance with your lips and cheeks.
If you are suitable, she personally injects a very small dose on each side of the nostrils. The entire procedure usually takes under five minutes. Because nearby muscles also lift the upper lip, precise placement is important to keep your smile unchanged.
Results & How Long They Last
Most patients notice reduced flaring within a few days, with the full effect at about two weeks. Results typically last around 3 months, sometimes a little longer with repeated treatment.
Downtime, Aftercare & Possible Side Effects
You can return to daily life right away. For the rest of the day, avoid rubbing your nose, wearing heavy glasses that press on the area, and hot or strenuous activities.
Side effects are usually mild: slight redness, tenderness or a small bruise. If toxin spreads to nearby lip-lifting muscles, the upper lip or smile may feel slightly different for a few weeks. Breathing is not normally affected, but anyone with existing nasal airway issues should mention them at consultation.
