Under-Eye Filler in Seoul |
Apgujeong EU:GENES Skin Clinic
Look rested without looking changed. At Apgujeong EU:GENES Skin Clinic, under-eye filler is planned and performed by Dr. Jung Yoo-jin, with a cautious approach suited to this delicate area.
What is under-eye filler?
Under-eye filler uses a soft hyaluronic acid filler to restore volume beneath the eyes. With age, genetics or weight loss, this area can hollow out, creating shadows that make you look tired even after a good night's sleep.
By gently filling the hollow where the lower eyelid meets the cheek, filler reduces that shadow and smooths the transition. The goal is a fresher look, not a puffy one.
Who is it for?
Good candidates usually have:
- Hollowness or a sunken look under the eyes
- Shadows caused by volume loss rather than pigment
- Reasonably firm, good-quality skin in the area
Under-eye filler is often not the right choice for large under-eye bags caused by fat pads, very thin or crepey skin, persistent fluid swelling, or dark circles caused mainly by pigmentation. In these cases filler can make things look worse, and the doctor may suggest alternatives such as skin boosters or Rejuran, or referral for surgery. Pregnancy, active infection and filler allergy also rule out treatment.
Benefits
- Softens hollows and dark shadows
- Helps you look well-rested
- Subtle change others notice without knowing why
- Reversible if adjustment is needed
Your treatment at EU:GENES
We begin with a doctor-led 1:1 consultation. Dr. Jung examines the area under different lighting and expressions to work out what is really causing your tired look: volume loss, fat, pigment, or a mix.
If filler is suitable, she designs a conservative plan. Treatment is often done with a blunt cannula, which may lower the risk of bruising and vessel injury, using small amounts of soft product placed deep. The doctor performs every injection herself. You will leave with written aftercare and a direct line to us on WhatsApp.
Results and how long they last
Improvement is visible right away and becomes clearer as swelling fades over one to two weeks. Because this area moves relatively little, results typically last 9 to 12 months, and sometimes longer. We generally prefer a small follow-up touch-up over placing too much at once.
Downtime, aftercare and possible side effects
Mild swelling and bruising are common for several days. Some people have puffiness, especially in the morning, that settles over the following weeks. Sleep with your head slightly raised, avoid rubbing your eyes, and skip alcohol, saunas and hard exercise for a couple of days.
The under-eye area carries higher risks than many other sites. Filler placed too superficially can create a bluish tint (Tyndall effect) or visible lumps, and too much product can cause long-lasting swelling. Rarely, filler can enter or compress a blood vessel (vascular occlusion), which in very rare cases around the eyes can affect vision. This is why experience and anatomical knowledge matter so much. Seek help immediately for severe pain, skin blanching or any change in vision.
Frequently asked questions
Is under-eye filler the same as tear trough filler?
They overlap closely. Tear trough filler targets the specific groove running from the inner corner of the eye, while under-eye filler can also address broader hollowing.
Will it fix my dark circles?
Only if they are caused by shadowing from volume loss. Pigmented dark circles need a different approach.
How long is the appointment?
Allow about an hour, including consultation and numbing time.
