What is scar filler?
Scar filler is a targeted injection of hyaluronic acid filler beneath a depressed (atrophic) scar. When a wound heals with too little collagen, the skin can dip inward. Filler supports the scar from below, lifting it so shadows soften and the surface looks more even.
Some scars are tethered to deeper tissue. In these cases, the doctor may first gently release the scar band (a technique called subcision) before adding filler, which can help the scar lift more fully.
Who is it for?
Scar filler works best for:

Results & how long they last
Improvement is visible immediately, with the final result clear once swelling settles after about one to two weeks. Hyaluronic acid under scars typically lasts around 6 to 12 months. When combined with subcision or treatments such as Potenza microneedling RF, new collagen may help parts of the improvement last longer for some patients.
Downtime, aftercare & possible side effects
Mild redness, swelling and small bruises are common for a few days. Avoid touching or massaging the area, heavy exercise, saunas and alcohol for 48 hours, and protect the area from strong sun.
Possible side effects include small lumps, uneven correction, temporary discoloration and, rarely, infection. Scars on the face near blood vessels carry a rare risk of vascular occlusion, so careful technique is essential. Contact us promptly if you notice severe pain or skin blanching.
