Hip Dip Filler in Seoul |
Apgujeong EU:GENES Skin Clinic
Hip dips, the natural inward curves below the hip bone, are completely normal, but some people prefer a smoother silhouette. At Apgujeong EU:GENES Skin Clinic, hip dip filler offers a non-surgical option, starting with an honest conversation about what it can and cannot do.
What is hip dip filler?
Hip dips (sometimes called "violin hips") are indentations on the side of the body, just below the hip bone. They are caused by bone structure and how muscle and fat attach, not by weight or fitness. Hip dip filler uses a body-grade filler, typically a firmer hyaluronic acid, to fill these hollows and create a smoother line from waist to thigh.
Because the anatomy is structural, exercise alone often will not change hip dips, which is why some people consider filler.
Who is it for?
You may be a candidate if:
- You have clear, localized indents on one or both sides
- You want a smoother contour rather than wider hips
- Your weight is stable and you are in good general health
Hip dip filler is not advisable if the dips are very deep and wide (the volume needed may be impractical), if you have a skin infection in the area, a bleeding disorder, previous permanent fillers there, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you plan significant weight change, it is best to wait.
Benefits
- A smoother, more continuous hip-to-thigh curve
- No surgery, general anesthesia or large scars
- Adjustable and reversible with hyaluronic acid products
- Can be combined with buttock contouring for a balanced shape
Your treatment at EU:GENES
At your 1:1 consultation, Dr. Jung Yoo-jin assesses your hips while you stand, turn and shift your weight, since dips can look very different in each position. She will estimate the volume required and tell you frankly whether filler is a sensible choice.
If you proceed, the area is marked, numbed with local anesthetic and treated by the doctor herself, usually with a blunt cannula for smoother placement. Symmetry is checked throughout. You will receive clear aftercare advice before leaving.
Results & how long they last
The smoother contour is visible right away and settles over two to four weeks. For most patients, body filler in this area lasts roughly 12 to 18 months, depending on product, volume and activity level. Some people choose a small top-up to maintain the shape. Many patients combine this with butt filler for an even curve across the lower body.
Downtime, aftercare & possible side effects
Swelling, tenderness and bruising are common for several days. Avoid tight clothing over the area, sleeping on your side, intense exercise, saunas and massage for about one to two weeks.
Possible side effects include lumps, asymmetry, filler shifting, infection and delayed nodules. Although the hip area is generally lower risk than the buttock, any large-volume body filler carries a risk of vascular complications if injected incorrectly, so experience and safe technique are essential. FAQ
Are hip dips a sign of being unfit?
No. They are a normal part of skeletal anatomy and appear in people of every body type.
Will it look natural?
That is our priority. We aim to soften the indent, not create an exaggerated shape.
Is one session enough?
Often yes, though some patients prefer building volume gradually over two sessions.
